one thing which i really really hate is when people call me the wrong name. there's a reason why i have my name. i dun care that you were in a text conversation with her. when i call, i expect you to see the screen, recognise my name and acknowledge me. that explains the 4 missed calls which i refuse to pick up thereafter. i'm giving you the time to learn how to read the english alphabets and understand the difference between our names.
this is just a very small matter, and i know i am coming across as really petty right now. but lately i have been struggling with finding my own identity and self-esteem, and situations like this dun help at all. seriously.
for i am the freckled one
Everything happens for a reason, if you cannot change it, accept it.

case closed
i should have known better. expecting what i can never get. from the very beginning. the cards have already been laid out very clear. and i insisted on playing the game.
and today i lost. badly. with alcohol, it all became worse. thank god i was in the privacy of my room. what was supposed to be a fun weekend in HK just took a nosedive.
and here i am, 6:20am in HK, awake in my bed weaning off the effects of alcohol. it's time to catch up with my life.

i told myself to blog more often come 2012. yar rite.. good effort for the first part of jan, but.. .. ..
anyway, as usual a lot of things happened. after the company summit in Cancun came QlikAcademy at Lund. had a rushed 1 week in the office, doesn't help when we were all still in the cny mood, concentrating on work was hard. had 2 loheis with the qliks, thank god none of such with the partners. still too early for such activities i must say. had to rush to change $ and buy supplies for the Lund trip, the freaking place was at -8 deg!
hopped on the midnite flight to Copenhagen. arrived in the morning, thank god i was able to check in. and yes, it was freezing. layered up in my thermal + thick scarf + beanie, and headed to the shopping street to run some errands. Then snuck back into the hotel room to MSN video chat with @MonaRockStar. And the irony is that we hardly talk on the phone back home. Managed to check out The Mermaid statue along the harbour in the biting cold. But gotta admit that I thoroughly enjoyed the wintry cold, with the slight falling snow.
Caught up with Reina and took the 1hr train ride from Copenhagen to Lund. If I thought Copenhagen was cold, Lund was colder, with the wind. Hotel Finn was a nice new boutique hotel, very functional with the necessities. And it only opened a week before we arrived, so I can safely say I'm the first to shower in room 1403. It was a green door, and green's my lucky colour this year!
The academy was a lil dry at times, and I got lost many times. Spaced out rather. Cruised thru the app-building session. The team presentation was a major stress point for me. The peeps in my team are all senior and experienced, I was more than lost. I lost my tongue rather. And of course I took up the easiest task of presenting a business case. Which I think I did an okay job of, from the feedback at least. Our team went first, and after that it was juz chilling. That nite was also the teambuilding nite at the House of Challenges. Food was certainly better, and guess what, my team won with 1,850 points!
It was a nice week also because there was a call and stream of messages coming in. But alas..
Never really expected it, but I actually felt sad to leave after the week. I will miss my fellow classmates, and will see them at the summit next year. Managed to squeeze in a few hours of free time in the city centre of Lund before heading back to Copenhagen. Met up with American classmates for more drinks and party, then headed back to pack, where I fell asleep in the tub!!
Now that Academy is over, CCS is coming up next. Hopefully there's a session in Amsterdam, then I can finally visit The Netherlands, not juz a transit stop anymore!
